Overview
The Heli Air Monaco app was designed to deliver a fast, seamless, and premium booking experience for helicopter flights. The goal was to enable both tourists and VIP travelers to book flights in just a few steps.
Project Goal
The Heli Air Monaco app was designed to provide a fast, simple, and luxurious experience for booking helicopter flights. The app enables users, including tourists and VIP passengers, to book their flights in just a few steps.
My Role
As a Product Designer:
-
Identified user challenges by analyzing support tickets using AI.
-
Designed and optimized the best user flow for the app.
-
Ensured simplicity, speed, and a luxurious experience throughout the booking process.
User Challenges
Initially, by reviewing existing data and engaging with users, the team discovered that the flight booking process in the app was overly complex and confusing. Users often struggled to select and book the appropriate flight, especially tourists and VIP passengers who expected a fast and luxurious experience.
To gain deeper insights into the issues, our team conducted a comprehensive User Research process:
Support Ticket Analysis:
All user requests and issues submitted to customer support were reviewed. Using AI tools, common patterns were identified, and areas causing confusion for users were highlighted.
Statistical Data Analysis:
App analytics were examined to identify the stages with the highest drop-off rates. This helped the team pinpoint which parts of the booking process were reducing conversion rates.
User Interviews and Persona Validation:
Interviews were conducted with real users, particularly VIP passengers and tourists, to understand their needs, pain points, and expectations regarding the booking process.
The research revealed that the booking flow contained unnecessary and complicated steps, causing confusion and reducing user satisfaction. Based on these insights, the team decided to redesign the booking flow, making the user journey simpler, faster, and more luxurious, ensuring a smooth and frictionless booking experience.
Design Solution
After identifying user challenges and analyzing support and analytics data, the design team implemented the following solutions:
Requirements Analysis:
Based on User Research and identified pain points, a list of key user requirements was created. These focused on ease of booking, a luxurious experience, and a frictionless user journey.
Booking Flow Redesign:
Using real user data and support tickets, the booking flow was redesigned to remove unnecessary steps and create a predictable, streamlined path for users. User behavior at each stage was analyzed to ensure design changes were effective.
Mobile App Design:
The app was designed with a focus on a minimalist, luxurious UX, allowing users to easily browse flights, select times, and manage bookings.
Custom UI Kit Development:
A comprehensive and dedicated UI Kit was developed for the project, including components usable across the app. This ensured visual consistency, standardized elements, and accelerated development and design workflows within the team.
Pre-Implementation Testing & Validation:
Before final development, the prototype was tested with target users to gather early feedback on the booking flow, user experience, and design elements. Initial results indicated that the booking path was simpler, the experience more luxurious, and users could select flights without confusion. The final version is still under development, but these pre-implementation tests demonstrate the effectiveness of the design.
